Study program:
Geotechnics (IX semester -MsC) |
Name of subject: Soil Mechanics 2 |
Instructors:
Prof. Dragoslav Rakić |
Status: Compulsory |
ECTS: 6 |
Prerequisites: / |
Course Objectives: Defining the basic physical and mechanical characteristics of the soil. Use of soil parameters in many geotechnical analyzes of soil structure interaction. |
Learning Outcomes: Use of acquired knowledge from Soil Mechanics to solve various geotechnical problems. |
Content:
Theory teaching Specificity of testing in stationary and mobile laboratories; Conditions for forming a laboratory; Special methods for determining the phase composition; Special methods for determining the granulometric composition; Filter rules; Specificity of the effects of frost on soil; Tests for determining the benefits of the soil for the construction of pavement (Proctor compaction test and CBR test); Hydraulic of soil, two-dimensional flow - the theory of a flow net; Consolidation (IL, CRS, CC); Deformability in restrained and unrestrained conditions; Isotropic compression and swelling; Applying the theory of consolidation in practice; Soil shear strength in drained and undrained conditions; Determination methods of soil shear strength parameters (UU, CU, CD, DS, SS, circular, residual). Graphical and statistical processing of test results; Quality system, standards for specific test conditions; General of in situ tests for determination of the strength and deformability parameters. Practical teaching Demonstrative and independent laboratory exercises as well as audio-visual presentations. They include eight tasks which follow the lecture program, as well as two independent laboratory exercises. Field inspection with observation of in situ tests (SPT, CPT). |
