Course Objectives:
Introducing to geology students concepts and processes of landscape evolution and its relations with various geological settings. |
Learning Outcomes:
Students will become capable to use topographic maps, understand how geomorphological processes are developed, interpret neotectonic activity. |
Content:
Theory teaching
Introduction. Geomorphological processes. Types of landscape. Eluvial process. Hill-slope processes, mechanisms and evolution. Fluvial processes, mechanisms and evolution. Karst processes, mechanisms, and evolution. Glacial processes, mechanisms, and evolution. Marine processes, mechanisms, and evolution. Eolian processes, mechanisms, and evolution. Antrophogenic processes. Endogenic geomorphological processes. Practical teaching
Topographic map: landscape representations on the topographic map, construction of the topographic map, measurements on the topograpic map. Topographic profile. Block diagrams. Analysis of quantitative parameters of drainage areas. |
