Methods of Construction of Underground Facilities

Course Objectives:
Introduction to both theoretical and practical training with one of the fundamental disciplines in the field of underground mining exploitation. By completing this course, students are trained to independently perform tasks that are set in front of them.
Learning Outcomes:
With the acquired knowledge, students are able to classify the working environment, design, define the technology of construction and define the support system of underground facilities.
Content:

Theory teaching
Introductory lecture, General concepts, working environment, energy, classifications, digging works, impact-turning drilling, Rotary drilling, Cutting, milling and scraping works, Blasting works, Load works, support works, Coridor construction, Shaft construcion, Production of underground rooms under special conditions.

Practical teaching
Basic mining symbols. Use of basic mining symbols with basic geometrization, Physical and technological properties of the working environment. Classification of rock mass from the point of view of the underground construction,Indicator of the mechanism of the site. Impact-turning drilling, Rotary drilling, Cutting, milling and scraping works, Blasting works, Load works, Suport works, Corridor design, Shaft design, Practical exercises at school mine.
