Course Objectives:
Acquiring a knowledge of mine ventilation fundamentals, as well as facilities and equipment for mine ventilation. Gaining a knowledge about the mine ventilation surveys. Acquiring practical and theoretical knowledge related to the auxiliary ventilation and mine ventilation systems design.
Learning Outcomes:
Acquiring competencies in mine ventilation planning and design.
Content:

Theory teaching
Gases in mine openings. Climatic conditions in the mines. Fundamentals of mine aerodynamics. Fundamentals of air flow thermodynamics. Mine ventilation systems. Ventilation network analysis. Air losses. Mine fans. Auxiliary ventilation. Mine ventilation system design. Mine fires and their effects on mine ventilation systems.

Practical teaching
Mine ventilation surveys. Mine ventilation planning and ventilation network analysis. Auxiliary ventilation system design. A case study of mine ventilation project. Mine ventilation network simulation packages.
