Study program:
Underground Construction (VII semester -BsC) |
Name of subject: Production and Installation of Concrete |
Instructors:
Dr Luka Crnogorac, Prof. Rade Tokalić |
Status: Optional |
ECTS: 5 |
Prerequisites: none |
Course Objectives: The main goal of the course is to get students acquainted with concrete types, methods of obtaining and application of concrete in mining. Concrete is one of the best materials for building underground structures with extremely long service life. Therefore, the technology of concrete production is studied in detail, testing the characteristics of fresh and hardened concrete, installation and care of concrete. |
Learning Outcomes: With the acquired knowledge, students are qualified to be able to deal with the technology of production and installation of concrete in support concrete linings of underground and other infrastructure facilities (mining premises, tunnels, metro, garages, underground shelters, etc.). |
Content:
Theory teaching Hydraulic mineral binders. Portland cement. Types and classes of Portland cement. Concrete. Components of concrete: cement, water, stone aggregates. Designing the volume of fresh embedded concrete. Methods of production of concrete, transport and installation of concrete. Types of concrete: lightweight, heavy, reinforced, prestressed concrete and special concrete. Concrete steels. Corrosion of concrete and protective measures. Concrete and reinforced concrete products. Concrete as support material for mining premises, tunnels, metro, communal facilities, special purpose objects, etc. Practical teaching Testing of aggregates (quality and granulometric composition). Testing of cement (specific masses, fineness of milks, specific surface, consistency, beginning and end of binding time, constant volume). Testing of mechanical strengths of cement (bending and pressing strength) and determination of cement grade. Preparation of samples for testing of fresh concrete. Testing of the characteristics of fresh concrete (consistency, etc.). Production of concrete concrete bodies for testing the characteristics of hardened concrete. Testing the compressive strength of the concrete and testing the flexural strength of the concrete. |
