Study program:
Paleontology (VIII semester -MsC) Regional geology (VIII semester -MsC) |
Name of subject: Neotectonics |
Instructors:
Dr Uroš Stojadinović |
Status: Optional |
ECTS: 5 |
Prerequisites: - |
Course Objectives: The purpose of this course is to introduce basic concepts on recent lithospheric movements. Students will obtain various information applicable in slope stability investigations, regional seismic features, and landscape characteristics. |
Learning Outcomes: Students will obtain knowledge and skills that are required to resolve research questions related to neotectonics by applying basic methods of neotectonic investigations. |
Content:
Theory teaching General information, research methods, remote sensing methods, geological methods, geomorphological methods, geophysical methods in studies of recent tectonic movements, geodetic methods, hydrogical and hydrogeological methods, historical and archeological data as indicators of recent tectonic movements. Graphic interpretations of neotectonic movements. Geodynamics of recent tectonic movements. Application of neotectonic investigations. Practical teaching Resolving practical problems using different methods. Construction and interpretation of various morphometric maps. Analysis of morphological indicators of neotectonic activity. Neotectonic interpretation of structural and paleostructural subsurface maps. Construction of neotectonic map. |
