Field Study in Mineralogy

Course Objectives:
Acquiring knowledge and skills on the basic field method of studying minerals
Learning Outcomes:
Training for direct practical work on the field: macroscopic recognition of minerals (manner of occurrence, physical properties, paragenesis) and methods of sampling
Content:

Theory teaching
Introductory lectures at the locations of metallic (cinnabars of Avala) and silicate mineral species (axinite of Avala) and practical training of students by means of field tests, especially in working on open outcrops and sampling.

Practical teaching
Independent fieldwork of students on open profiles and development of field notebooks
