Theory teaching Theoretical background was already provided in the courses "Methods of engineering-geological investigations", "Principles of engineering geology", and "Engineering geodynamics" Practical teaching Familiarizing the students with the basic principles and methods of engineering-geological mapping, types of engineering-geological maps, content of engineering-geological map (legend, cross-section, profile textual annex), producing and equipping geological, engineering-geological and geotechnical cross-section of the terrain, producing engineering geological map of suitability for urbanization of Sremčica, in 1:5000 scale. Familiarizing the students with basic principles and methods of mapping unstable areas; Processing existing engineering-geological data; Producing engineering-geological map and cross-section of a landslide, independently, based on the provided field records; Writing the field diary and associated appendices. Three instructive field sites close to Belgrade are used for practical exercising, i.e. three active landslides: Vinča (right riverbank of the Danube river), Umka (right riverbank of the Sava river), and Karaburma - Partizanski put (right riverbank of the Danube river); landslide with debris flow elements - Mirijevo. Mapping unstable slopes in solid rocks - rockfall; Letnja pozornica in Belgrade; Producing enveloped cross-section of the rock slope, producing other cross-sections, analysis of stability of potentially unstable blocks based on measured structural elements |
