Civil Engineering Constructions in Geotechnics

Study program:
Geotechnics (VI semester -BsC)
Name of subject: Civil Engineering Constructions in Geotechnics
Instructors:
Veljko Pujević
Status: Compulsory
ECTS: 5
Prerequisites: none
Course Objectives:
Opis Introduction to the concept of stresses and deformations in the body under load.
Learning Outcomes:
Obtaining knowledge in the field of stress-strain analysis of the body under load (with reference to soil).
Content:

Theory teaching
Introduction. Stress analysis. Stress state in axially loaded bars. Stress state in 3D. Strain analysis. Strain state in 2D. Connections between component strains and displacements. Stress-strain relationships. Rheological models and their application. Problem of stress and strain determining in loaded body. An overview of basic load types and corresponding equations for stress and strain calculations. Design of beam and control of a stress in the critical section. Hypothesis of material failure. Allowable stresses in structure building materials. Application of design equations in reinforced concrete beams.

Practical teaching
Exercises are performed in groups and calculation examples follow the lecture material.
