Study program:
Geology (I semester -PhD) Geotechnics (I semester -PhD) |
Name of subject: Stone in Building Construction |
Instructors:
Prof. Vesna Matović |
Status: Optional |
ECTS: 10 |
Prerequisites: Does not have |
Course Objectives: Acquiring knowledge about the quality of stone and stone aggregates, about forms and methods of application of stone in civil engineering and building construction and application of stone for the production of building materials, concrete, cement, lime, thermal insulation materials, etc. |
Learning Outcomes: Acquired knowledge provides the necessary competence for the field: production and application of stone in building constructions; for research in the field of methodology of testing the quality of building and dimension stone. Developing specific competencies for managing and / or participating in applied research oriented to the problems of application of stone in civil engineering and architecture. |
Content:
Theory teaching Application of stone through history; contemporary forms of stone application; the properties of stone essential for quality determination and the possibility of producing various stone products from aggregates to monoliths; forms of stone application in building constructions, architecture and various industrial branches: stone in road construction, armourstone in constructior; dimension stone; stone as a raw material for the production of lime and cement, thermal insulation materials (expanded perlite, mineral wool). Practical teaching Exercises are followed by classical lectures by audio-visual methods, fieldwork of objects, seminars-presentations and interactive discussion of the teaching unit. |
