Course Objectives: Introducing students to methods of selecting equipment in surface mining. |
Learning Outcomes: Mastering professional knowledge on methods of optimizing the selection of equipment in surface mining. |
Content:
Theory teaching Introduction to the course, concept of teaching and taking the exam. Basic concepts, technology and production processes in mining. Requirements and limitations for operation of machines in surface mines. Operating conditions of mining machines, working environment, properties.Legislation in the design and selection of mining machines. The basic conditions that the machinery should fulfil for operation in surface mines. Testing of mining machines. Costs of acquisition, ownership and operation of mining machines. Determination of the life span of mining machines. Extension of the life of mining machines, revitalization and modernization. Selection of mining machines by technical characteristics. Selection of mining machines by type. Selection of mining machines by number. Practical teaching Seminar work is included into the framework of the course, related to the selection of machines for surface mining. |
