Name of subject: Combustion | ||||||||||
Instructors: Prof. Marija Živković |
||||||||||
Status: Optional | ||||||||||
ECTS: 5 | ||||||||||
Prerequisites: - | ||||||||||
Course Objectives: The objective of the course is to educate and inform students with combustion processes, basic concepts and methods for calculating characteristic properties, environmental aspects of combustion and possibilities for reducing emissions of harmful substances. |
||||||||||
Learning Outcomes: After passing an exam, a student can calculate heating value, quantity and composition of flue gases for different fuels and excess air coefficients, determine combustion temperature, enthalpy of flue gases, flame velocity. Students are educated about basics of combustion of liquid, solid and gaseous fuels. They are able to identify factors that influence emissions of harmful substances, as well as possible options to reduce them. Students can determine emissions of greenhouse gases due to combustion. |
