Course Objectives: Acquainting with contemporary methods of risk management and decision making process in production and business environment. |
Learning Outcomes: Student acquired knowledge on identification, analysis and management of risks and uncertainties in industrial processes. |
Content:
Theory teaching 1. Introduction to risk management and decision making in industry.2. Risk management strategies 3. Risk classification. 4. Risk management procedures (risk assessment and estimation, handling risks, supervision) 5. External risks in minerals engineering I (financial, market, business) 6. External risks in minerals engineering II (legislative, expropriative, regional, political) 7. Production technology related risks and uncertainties 8. Health and work safety related risks. Human factor 9. Risks related to spatial, environmental and urban conditions and limitations. 10. Risk management in the legislation of the Republic of Serbia 11. Risk related legislation in other countries. Legislation of the EU 12. Identification, assessment and quantification of risks - FMEA (failure mode effects analysis) 13. Identification, assessment and quantification of risks - FTA (fault tree analysis) 14. Identification, assessment and quantification of risks - HAZOP (hazard and operability study) 15. Decision making support Practical teaching 1. Case study: Risk identification and analysis in surface mining (2 sessions) 2. Case study: Risk identification and analysis in underground mining (2 sessions) 3. Case study: Risk identification and analysis in mineral processing (2 sessions) 4.
