Conditions for enrolment  

Achieved 300 ECTS points at basic and master academic studies

Study programme objectives  

» Educating of professionals with PhD competent for acquisition, processing and interpretation of the data in the area of geophysics, as well as educating of those interested in this science field,
» Educating for quality and original scientific-researching work (independently and in a team of researchers), work results presentation and achieving a high level of geophysics knowledge,
» Qualifying of candidates for scientific work in research institutions or economic organisations and educational work in institutions for university education.
» Achieving of scientific abilities and academic skills and acquiring of proper competences, development of creative abilities and mastering specific practical skills, necessary for the future career development in the area of geophysics,
» Qualifying of candidates for quality and creative scientific-researching work within various types of complex research,
» Acquiring of high competences and academic and practical skills in the area of the software applicable in geophysics,
» Development of creative abilities for problem considering and abilities for critical thinking,
» Acquiring of the habits for permanent education and progressing in the profession.

Future approach  

The university education system in the Republic of Serbia does not envisage continuation of studies after the finished doctoral academic studies.

Professional status  

Ph. D. in geology engineeringThe students who have successfully finished this study programme are able to do the following in the area of geophysics:
» Understand, notice, formulate and independently solve various engineering and scientific problems in the area of geophysics, by using scientific methods and procedures;
» Associate knowledge from various fields (geology, physics, mathematics, and others) and apply them in practice,
» Organise and carry out scientific research; perform all the phases of scientific work in geophysics, from planning and drafting a scientific project, presentation of the project to potential investors, to planning and performing of practical and theoretical part of the research, as well as presentation of the results of scientific work in the form of reports, scientific works, patents or new technical solutions,
» Carry out international scientific projects, present the results of scientific-researching works at scientific conferences, publish them in scientific journals and other publications,
» Follow contemporary achievements in the area of geophysics and similar sciences, use techniques, skills and contemporary programme tools in theory and practice,
» Work independently or in a team composed of the experts of various profiles, and communicate efficiently,
» Think critically, act creatively and independently; respect the principles of ethical codex of the quality scientific practice and contribute to development of geophysics and science in general.
