Course Objectives:
Students through this specialized course taught depositional systems as a logical upgrade for previously overcome courses of sedimentary rocks. |
Learning Outcomes:
Students will gain the ability to exchange rate after the practical work associated with sedimentary rocks define the conditions and environment of their creation. It also opens the possibility of creating research projects relating to sedimentation systems. |
Content:
Theory teaching
Lectures related to the study of depositional systems that form sedimentary rocks. The continental system (alluvial, lake, desert, glacial, swamp ...), The transition system (delta, estuaries, a barrier-lagoon complex, shallow carbonates plain, etc.), and marine systems (shallow and deep water). Practical teaching
Exercises follow lectures via appropriate genetic collections that are studied macroscopically and microscopically. Collections are related to lithostratigraphic columns. |
