Course Objectives:
The objective of the course is to acquire knowledge about geological parameters of mineral deposits, basics of methodology, technical means and systems of prospecting and exploration, documenting results of prospecting and exploration of mineral deposits, as well as getting theoretical knowledge related to the sampling of mineral raw materials.
Learning Outcomes:
Learning the methods of prospecting and exploring deposits of solid mineral resources, technical means and systems of exploration, documenting exploration and modeling the results of the research, as well as getting theoretical and practical knowledge related to the preparation of geological documentation on mines and sampling of mineral raw materials.
Content:

Theory teaching
Prospection and exploration of mineral deposits, basic geological parameters of deposits, principles and phases of exploration, principles and methods to delineate the deposit. Prognostic geometrisation of ore body contours. Exploration lines, sections and nets. Technical means in exploration. Systems and methods of exploration. Documentation of exploration works and exploration. Definition, object and method of mine geology. Geological documentation, documenting and mapping at mines. Sampling methods, classification of samples. Selection of sampling method. Losses and dilutions. Classification of losses.

Practical teaching
Graphical presentation of shape, dimensions and position-plunge of ore bodies on maps, sections and projections. Solving of computational and graphical tasks regarding geological documentation and sampling. Field work on mapping of school mine.
