Prof. Nevenka Đerić
Status: Optional
ECTS: 10
Prerequisites: -
Course Objectives:
This class will cover the detailed knowledge on biogeographic distribution and biostratigraphic intervals of microfauna that represented inportant part of a marine ecosytem.
Learning Outcomes:
Ability to interpret biological differences in microfauna, determine conditions of changes in the content of the fossil comunities and relationships with the accompanying fossil community, as well as to apply the obtained results in sedimentological, paleoecological and biostratigraphical research.
Content:

Theory teaching
The importance of fossils in sediment deposition and diagenesis. Formation of carbonate skeletons and their participation in the carbonate sediments. Fossil biocommunities’s structure. Formation of siliceous skeletons and their significance for deepwater sediments. Microfauna - shelf, continental slope and abyssal zone. Analysis microfacies.
