Geophysics (IX semester -MsC)
Name of subject: Geophysical Monitoring
Instructors:
Prof. Dejan Vučković
Status: Compulsory
ECTS: 5
Prerequisites: -
Course Objectives:
The objective of the course is to earn basic experiences regarding the application and execution of geophysical monitoring, through the indicating of all acquisition procedures which are some form of geophysical monitoring, as well as practical introduction of the specificities of monitoring performing in the domain of individual geophysical methods.
Learning Outcomes:
Lectures provide the basis for further training in geophysical monitoring, as well as mastering the basic techniques of work and data processing and also understanding the process of direct and inverse modeling in the domain of time.
Content:

Theory teaching
Theoretical basics on geophysical acquisition techniques for monitoring, data discretization problems, digital signal processing, continuous and sequential monitoring, aliasing and problems of reconstruction (regression) of the monitored analogue functions. The concept of modeling and interpretation, the application of geophysical monitoring data.

Practical teaching
Computational exercises from the domain of spectrum decomposition, filtering, aliasing, and regression functions. Practical exercises from the field of geophysical monitoring and adequate parametrization. In the framework of the exercise, students are preparing for the seminar work.
