Course Objectives:
The aim of the course is to familiarize with basic geological formations, criteria and method of division, units of higher and lower categories.
Learning Outcomes:
Skill for students to recognize individual characteristic formations, as well as to identify individual formation or its members during geological research.
Content:

Theory teaching
Introduction to Formation Geology; definitions and tasks; basic principles, Basic geological formations that are separate. Units of higher and lower categories. Method of marking. Specific lithostratigraphic, tectonic and paleogeographic properties. Separation of formations in Europe and the world. Determination and naming of formations in Serbia.

Practical teaching
Exercises are designed so that the student through various tasks by making maps, profiles and cross-sections on small terrains has the opportunity to simulate practical work and thus actively master the course.
