Engineering Metrology

Prerequisites: Prerequisites – nil
Course Objectives:
Gaining knowledge about: measurement procedures and processes; accurate representation of results; determining measurement uncertainties; metrology organization; and metrology laws and regulations.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing the course, students will have: mastered the basic concepts of metrology; become familiar with metrology regulations; and gained knowledge about the principles of operation of different instruments (particularly those that measure lengths and angles).
Content:

Theory teaching
Development of metrology, measurement system and units of measure. Measurement and data processing. Length standard and measurement of large distances. Measurement of horizontal and vertical angles. Organization of metrology. Scientific metrology. Industrial metrology. Legal metrology. Standardization and ISO. Serbian metrology regulations.

Practical teaching
Theoretical lectures accompanied by practical instruction and assignments on relevant topics.
