Course Objectives:
Introduction to the students of the first year of the Mining departmeent with the basics of modern market business, in the field of mineral industry. Presentation of the place of role and importance of the mineral industry. Learning about the concept of sustainable development in the modern mineral resource industry. Defining the position, role, rights and obligations of actors in the mineral resource industry.
Learning Outcomes:
Mining engineer educated in: the foundations of a market economy; significance of the mineral industry; the concept of sustainable development; the role, rights and obligations of the actors in the mineral industry.
Content:

Theory teaching
Introduction, Market Business as a Modern Business Philosophy, Basic Marketing Ideas. Functions and marketing processes. Key market concepts, Market analysis. Market segments, Local, regional and world markets. Place, role, rights and obligations of employees in modern mining enterprises. Historical development of the mineral industry. The role of minerals in contemporary society. Basics of market operations in the field of mineral industry. Organizational structure, ownership relationships, legal regulations and organizational processes in mining industry. Energy Raw Materials, Metal Mineral Raw Materials, Non-Metallic Mineral Raw Materials, Regional Distribution of Manufacturers and Consumers. Concept of sustainable development in contemporary society. Relation of the implementation of the concept of sustainable development and mining production. Serbia’s sustainable development strategy.
