Prerequisites: -
Course Objectives:
Training students for establishing optimal parameters of machinery operation underground mining.
Learning Outcomes:
Acquisition of profound knowledge in the field of application of machinery in underground mining.
Content:

Theory teaching
Introductory lecture on methods and principles of optimization. Determination of the criteria for optimizing the operation of the excavation, loading and transport machinery in underground mining. Determining the optimal length of a longwall from the aspect of machines operation, determining the capacity and advance rate of the face. Determination of the cutting height and optimization of the parameters of the mechanized hydraulic support. Optimization of machine parameters for mechanized room and pillar excavation and loading-transport machinery under conditions of underground exploitation. Analysis of the cycle of work of loading machines and trucks.

Practical teaching
Practical classes with examples of mechanization operation in underground exploitation. Calculation of efficiency parameters and effects of mechanization based on different criteria, analysis of alternatives and optimization.
