Surface Mining Technology 2

Study program:
Surface Mining of Mineral Deposits (VIII semester -BsC)
Name of subject: Surface Mining Technology 2
Instructors:
Prof. Ivan Janković, Prof. Tomislav Šubaranović
Status: Compulsory
ECTS: 5
Prerequisites: Recultivation of open pit mines
Course Objectives:
Detailed knowledge of students with technical characteristics and technology of basic excavation machinery at all stages of development of surface mine (opening, development, closing). Training students for the application of methods and techniques for defining, selecting and optimizing the technological parameters of mining operations and calculating the techno-economic parameters of technological processes in the stages of excavation, disposal and landfilling.
Learning Outcomes:
Acquiring knowledge that can later be applied in practice in the field of surface exploitation technology for mineral resource deposits.
Content:

Theory teaching
Theoretical teaching involves the study of the following teaching units: Methods of opening of open pit mines, The development of mining works on the surface mine, The selection of basic equipment in the function of the surface mine capacity, the characteristics of the working environment and the technical and technological parameters, Bestransport system for the exploitation by the discontinuous mechanics, Mechanization, Selective Discovery Technology by Discontinuous Mechanization, Selective Digging Technology Continuous technology for disposing of disconnected equipment with discontinuous equipment, optimization of the capacity of excavation by discontinuous machinery, optimization of the capacity of excavation with continuous machinery, calculation of capital costs of excavation, budgeting direct costs of excavation.

Practical teaching
Practical classes will take place through the development of: Groups of technological schemes for the development of the use of the opening of floors with discounted and continuous equipment, Groups of technological schemes for the operation of discounted and continuous equipment on direct transfer to the excavated area, Groups of technological schemes of discontinual and continuous equipment in selective work, Groups of technological schemes of selective demolition disposal, Group of technological schemes of disposal by truck bulldozer system, Capital and direct costs calculation of excavation.

Conduct of the Course:
Lectures are conducted using a combined method (ex catedra / case study). Theoretical instructional content is exceded using the "ex catedra" method with the support of computer presentations, the second part of the lecture is done by the "case study" method, ie analysis of characteristic cases and examples that illustrate theoretical content. Practical classes (exercises) include the creation of characteristic examples to the group and individual work with students on solving individual tasks. Activity during the exercise also includes the preparation of the Study which contains the solved tasks from exercises with short tertiary work. A colloquium is organized, which is organized after 9 weeks of lectures and exercises.
